About Maya

Maya was born in the Metropolis of Los Angeles, CA and grew up in a town of 20,000 in Southern Oregon. She was raised in a family that encouraged creative expression through art, literature, and most notably music. Maya began playing the clarinet at a young age, taught herself piano, and bass guitar. She was privileged to benefit from the talent and wealth of musical arrangement from her Father, saxophonist, Lorenzo Carnegie from the legendary R&B/Funk band L.T.D.

After having her competitive athletic dreams crushed by a college injury, Maya focused on arranging stringed instruments, songwriting, singing technique, and complex rhythmical concepts.

Maya joined the world of investment banking as a creative administrative professional, adding Goldman Sachs, CBRichard Ellis, JPMorgan Chase, ArcaEx and Morgan Keegan to her professional resume in Chicago. Her twelve year tenure in the industry funded her first two studios, first in Chicago and then in Atlanta.

Maya has worked with world renowned audio engineers, singers, musicians and producers for 20 years. Now, with her third studio in Southern Oregon, she's preparing to open her doors to new talents the world deserves to hear.

As a vocalist, songwriter and composer, she draws from her vast experience and knowledge to further explore the world of music through her works. Maya's musical versatility and infectious personality have helped foster a collaborative experience where an artist is free to express their unique abilities.

"Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife."
